The company was founded in 2001 by Joint Managing Directors; actuary Conor O'Neill and technology specialist Michael O'Shea. The team is led by non-executive Chairman, Dermot O'Donoghue, former Head of Treasury at AIB, Ireland's biggest bank.

Regulation
Delta Index is regulated by the Irish Financial Regulator and is authorised to provide financial services in the UK under the EU's Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID).
Corporate History
June 2001 - Delta Index founded in Ireland.
April 2007 - Delta Index launches its custom built web-based trading platform XDeal.
August 2008 - Delta Index enters the Hungarian market with a local language platform.
September 2008 - Delta Index becomes first spread betting provider to be regulated by the Irish Financial Regulator under MiFID.
November 2008 - Delta Index launches its Irish CFD offering.
February 2009 - Delta Index launches its German CFD platform and kicks off German marketing campaign
April 2009 - Dr. Sean Baker (co-founder of IONA Technologies) is appointed non executive director
